Testimonials

Lets hear about it!!

Such an amazing group!

“The Outdoor Adventure Foundation is truly invested in others. They care so much about what they can do to lighten the load for some who carry so much. My son was able to go on a spring turkey hunt that did not disappoint. The whole family got to attend and it was unforgettable. They truly rolled out the red carpet. The memories they gave us is worth more than anything in the world. The Outdoor Adventure foundation will forever hold a special place in our hearts.” Gentry Stokes

I may be bias but words can't express how grateful my boy and I are for The Outdoor Adventure Foundation in Vernal, Utah. What started out as simple talk during occupational therapy turned into an opportunity my boy will never forget. Last fall my boy was invited out to Vernal for his first cow elk hunt and what an adventure we sure had. A successful hunt he was able to fill with the help of so many wonderful people and one we'll always remember. The time they spent with us scouting, hiking and building memories in the mountains we'll cherish forever. We love The Outdoor Adventure Foundation and have gained some amazing friends that will last a lifetime. A HUGE "Thank You" goes out to The Outdoor Adventure Foundation. Becky Miller

The Outdoor Adventure Foundation Utah were amazing hosts and adventure guides on our ATV trek up Farmington Canyon. It was a beautiful experience to witness the fall foliage together. The girls loved ATV riding for the first time and especially enjoyed fording some gigantic puddles and climbing the rough terrain. Leslye was so excellent with the kids and my oldest daughter commented how much fun Leslye was and how much she loved her voice (with her great southern accent). So grateful to the Utah Outdoor Adventure Foundation for making this possible! Sincerely, Josh

In those moments after the tag is punched there are smiles and gratitude amongst any hunting party. The realization of success is shared by all. When the hunter has faced or is facing life threatening illness or life altering challenges, that feeling of gratitude is deeper than a Rocky Mountain canyon. And success feels higher than the timbered peaks. Briggs, my son and hero, was born to the sport of hunting. As he fought for his very life against Medulloblastoma, malignant brain and spinal cancer, it was hunting videos and stories that steeled his will live. And for his mother and I, there were many a desperate prayer sent heavenward in hopes that Briggs would see the hunting grounds again and be able to experience what he loves and lives for. The Outdoor Adventure Foundation opens the door back up to those who dream of getting out into the healing elements of the backcountry. Their mission is to enable life at its absolute fullest for those whose very lives have been or are threatened. I am forever grateful to the foundation for the memory that Briggs and I will share forever of his successful elk hunt in the mountains of Eastern Utah. For three magical days, we forgot about the past and stopped worrying about the future as we lost ourselves to grand country, good people, and a fair chase hunt that at times stretched us all to our limits. Thank you OAF for the memory of a lifetime.

Elle was so excited she was able to successfully harvest her 1st cow elk during her hunt with Outdoor Adventure Foundation and its founder of the Utah chapter Curtis Slaugh. As a mother the stress and anxiety of knowing what could happen and how nothing goes as planned was put to ease with the patience and understanding he had with her during the hunt. He was determined to make the experience not only successful but fun for her.

The Outdoor Adventure Foundation made Victor’s life a happy one. He loves to hunt and fish. The foundation helped to bring dreams to reality. Vic dreams of hunting African animals and traveling to different areas of the country to experience new things. Curtis called Vic and asked him if he would like to hunt Texas with his grandfather and brought the dreams to reality. Victor has autism, a TBI, and PTSD. The TBI prevents Vic from maturing properly and hampered his learning. He wants to be just like everyone else. This foundation treated Vic with so much compassion and understanding. He is a gentle giant and they made him feel like he was 10 ft tall. Larry and I would like to express our gratitude to everyone who made this dream come true. They have impacted Vic’s life in such a positive manner. Our heartfelt thanks!!!
